Individual Therapy for Teens, Young Adults and Adults

Empowering you to honor your true self and discover ways to thrive.

How I Work with Individuals

In our sessions, I primarily practice "talk therapy." My approach is client-centered, offering warm, non-judgmental, active listening that deeply respects your inner wisdom and strength. I value collaborative therapeutic processes, where we work together to understand and offer what is most supportive for you during our sessions.

Reasons clients come to see me.

Self-Esteem

You might find yourself constantly doubting and criticizing your own actions, seeking approval from others, or struggling to accept compliments. These feelings can lead to a sense of isolation or loneliness, potentially triggering depression and/or anxiety as well.

Relationships

You may feel stuck in communication patterns with your partner, friends, parents, or family members that leave you feeling disconnected and/or activated. You might want to set better boundaries or improve your communication skills, understand your unique ways of relating, and clarify your needs in relationships.

Trauma

You may have experienced traumatic experiences or chronic stress which can be incidental, developmental, relational, intergenerational, racial, and/or societal that impact your ability to flourish and create the life you long for.

Culture and Identities

You may feel invalidated or “different” from the dominant culture, or find it challenging to navigate various cultural expectations from family or different social groups. You might long to connect deeply with your own unique identities and communities at large.

Career Concerns and Burnout

You might feel unfulfilled or stagnant in your job, experience conflicts, or be uncertain about your career path. Signs of burnout can include feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, detached from work, and possibly experiencing physical symptoms like headaches or insomnia.

Body-Oriented Approach:

Somatic Experiencing (SE)

I incorporate Somatic Experiencing® (SE), a body-oriented approach focused on resolving trauma and chronic stress.

SE sessions involve a mindful exploration of bodily sensations, combined with dialogue and gentle movements, to support regulate the nervous system, develop more capacity, and reduce trauma symptoms.

We begin by discussing your current experiences, concerns, or specific issues you’d like to address. From there, I guide you in bringing mindfulness to your body sensations, emotions, memories, movements or images that may arise. Through mindful movements and dialogue, we’ll work together to notice and integrate pathways toward resolution and a fuller experience with yourself.

I have completed three years of Somatic Experiencing training and am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP)
